New Design Ideas

It's to be expected, I suppose, that books about graphic arts should invariably be among the most attractive that are published each year. It's always entertaining and interesting to peruse the titles that document prize-winning or avant garde designs. This compilation includes entries for an unexpectedly wide-range of advertising genres:

Encyclopedia of Wood
edited by
Aidan Walker

Though a great resource for Wood Tech students, this book will appeal to anyone who appreciates the beauty of fine wood. The editor devotes a single page to each of the world's 150 most-prized timbers. A rich, full-color photograph detailing a wood's burnished grain completely encompasses the top 40% of every page; beneath that one finds short descriptions of the growth, appearance, properties, and uses of the wood followed by ratings for its impact resistance, stiffness, density, workability, bending strength, and crushing strength.
